I cannot believe writing this that I am a rising third year! Not only that, but this will be my last (undergraduate at least) year at UC which makes my disbelief a lot stronger. A couple years ago I had a lot of ideas about where I wanted to be at this point in my college career, one of which was to have a specific idea of what career I wanted to pursue. However, with COVID affecting the world and myself/plans so much, I have decided to take a step back and just follow my passions instead of trying to plan out so much of my life. Another one of my goals was to get more involved with the organizations I joined my first year, and this I did accomplish. I am now the director of membership enrichment in my sorority, and I have made a lot more relationships with the girls in ZTA. I have also put a lot of time into GlobeMed as an E-board member this upcoming year as well as last year. In addition, my summer internship involves GlobeMed (the GROW internship, described more under the "honors experiences" tab). UC’s GlobeMed chapter is partnered with Social Action for Children and Women (SAW), which provides community administered health education, shelter, and schooling to Burmese refugees. I may even pursue a Master's in Public Health as a result of everything I have learned in GlobeMed. I will also be continuing as an Honor's Ambassador next year, and look forward to more in-person components to this role. Lastly, I had a great experience with RaMP, another UHP pre-approved experience. I am working in a new developmental biology/immunology lab, and have enjoyed learning more about what it would be like to have a career in research.
